Hannah Goff is a North Carolina based artist with background in fashion and textile design. Her experience working in the apparel industry and her avid collection of vintage and second hand materials has been the catalyst to her art practice. Focusing on re-use and sustainable consumerism, she makes paintings with found clothing and textiles for the home.
The textiles act as carriers of past lives, histories and emotions. Incorporating them into the work feels like a natural expression of the human experience.
She draws inspiration from the intersecting histories of abstract painting, quilting and interior design. The relationship between art and everyday life is at the center of her work, informing the continually evolving exploration of materiality and atmosphere in the domestic space.
